Ridiculous officiating
Written by EC Rules

If you don't have officials capable of calling games with competence in any league you risk the integrity of the sport. The sport you're watching is no different than staged events like WWE if you can't have officials manage games with common sense.

What is the breaking point going to be with Pac-10 basketball and it's officials? That technical on a bench celebrating after taking the lead in OT with .3 of a second to play is about as pathetic as you'll find in the last several years. Then it gets worse when the same thing occurs for the opposing team in the second overtime and yet there is no call.

Some reason has to enter the minds of the officials and not just, "Article 46.543 in Section A of paragraph 47 of the rulebook states....."

This loss has serious implication on postseason hopes and it was poorly closed out by the officials.....again for the Pac-10.

Officials Ducked the Cougs Big Time

How much more absurd can a call be than a technical foul with 0.3 seconds on the clock because the bench was on the floor... doesn't EVERY team celebrate when a game winning shot is hit in the final second??? Phil Knight, Nike and Oregon came out on top because the Cougs got DUCKED by the refs!!!
I've never seen a call like that...ever...

at any level. How do you make that call and then NOT call it when they do the exact same thing? I love basketball; played it all my life and coached too but if there is any flaw with the game, it's the impact that officials can have in the outcome. Kids playing their hearts out and some idiot with a whistle feels compelled to dictate the outcome. Unbelievable and deplorable.
Saw the replay, it was bad

I am so glad that I didn't watch the game, I would have been grumpy for the rest of the night.

I had the misfortune/advantage of not even hearing the results over the holiday weekend (in a locale w/o internet) so I'm just hearing about it now. Glad it didn't ruin my weekend... I've had enough ruined weekends lately to last all of 2010.
Even against OSU...

The officiating was terrible. Inconsistent and just bad calls at the end. Take the charge Moore took...should never have been called. Sure, it worked in the Cougs favor but if anything it was an obvious block. Moore was moving to his left. If anything, let them play at the end! Now, get those young men back to the free throw line and shoot day and night! That last performance was just horrible.
