The first three dominoes have fallen and none are that surprising. Anthony Brown, Michael Harthun, and Xavier Thames are all packing up and heading out of Pullman in search of more minutes. It should be interesting to see where they end up. You have to figure that Thames is headed to another BCS conference (or Mountain West) school, Harthun should be going non-BCS Division-I, and Brown would be wise to move down a level or two. We wish them all well. Kudos to Cougfan for breaking the story on all three here .
Â
Ok, down to business….let's focus on what this means for the WSU roster next year.

UPDATE (3/27 10:46PM)
Cougfan is reporting that Anthony Brown is out. It's a pay article but you can find details here . Also, rampant speculation that X Thames is also on the way out.
Our take: Brown was a no-brainer and it clears up the spot for Aden officially. Losing X (if true) hurts bad and we are now solely dependent on Reggie Moore at the point. Let's choose to remember how phenomenal he was at the start of this last season and not how indifferent he was on defense at the end of the season.
Â
As we enter Year Two of the Ken Bone Experience we are about to see another wave of change. Inevitably, there will be some turnover on the roster as players come to grips with the reality of what Ken Bone is looking for and more importantly the skills he rewards with minutes. Bone alluded to the fact that a few guys were ready to take a look last season and now they might just be ready to take their career in another direction.
Â
There have been whispers of a little discontent from a few players. Probably nothing out of the ordinary when a team struggles for a period of time and adjusts to a new coach and style. Expect to see some movement in the coming weeks as Bone meets with each player individually and they assess whether or not they'll get minutes at WSU. Unless you see a mass exodus this sort of movement should be considered a fairly natural part of the changeover from a defensive minded program to one that is focused on offense.
Â
Let's take a look at each player on the roster and who is more likely to switch jerseys next season.

In case there is still any doubt about how good Reggie Moore is, I want you to think back to last season, and the experience of Huskies sophomore Isaiah Thomas.
Â
If you live in the greater Seattle metro area, you no doubt were bombarded with pro-Husky propaganda about the great Isaiah Thomas and his glowing purple future. This hype carried through the 2008-2009 season and resulted in Thomas winning the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and Second Team All Pac-10 honors. In the off-season, it only got louder and more visible-- as the Seattle media propelled him to national watch lists and even the cover of Sports Illustrated .
Â
All that before this year even began. Â This season, Thomas has done nothing but improve, posting improved stats nearly every major category:
- PPG
- Offensive Rating
- Effective FG Pct
- True Shooting PCT
- FT Pct
- FT Rate
- 3pt Pct
- Rebounds per Game
- Assists per Game
- Blocks per Game.
Â
And tonight at Friel Court, he won't even be the best pure guard on the floor. Â Find out why after the jump:

That UW loss closes out the first half of the conference season. Should we be happy with 4-5? I would say the answer is yes. The first half was undoubtedly tougher than the second half will be for WSU. The Cougars got the LA, Arizona and Seattle road trips out of the way which is huge.

Here are a couple things to look for over the next 9 games:

Would you trade Ken Bone and Reggie Moore for Tony Bennett? |

The question has to be asked because that's what this season has amounted to. The Bennett's re-established our program and gave us an identity. It was an awesome ride and we owe them a lot. It was also clear that it was going to end between us….and end pretty quickly. In hindsight, the question wasn't whether TB was going to leave Pullman but rather when he would try to time the jump.
Last Fall, Bennett decided to make the jump to UVA and WSU was back to searching for a coach. Along comes a guy that has deep Northwest ties and a record of putting together quality recruiting classes and a style of play that kids love. He's not the charmer that TB was and he's not the youthful up and comer either. He's just a damn good basketball coach that can game plan and work deep NW ties to land local recruits. At this point, the story can go two ways. Either he's Kevin Eastman and we sink back to the depths of the Pac-10….or he's something more.....
